Abilene Gives 2021 took in a record amount, just shy of $2 million, the 24-hour fundraiser attracting 4,257 donors supporting a list of 140 nonprofits to AbileneGives.org. The clear winner of the day was Camp Able of Buffalo Gap, which raised a whopping $112,611.11, the first time any nonprofit has broken the $100,000 mark, said Katie Alford, president and chief executive officer of the Community Foundation of Abilene. The total raised was just shy of $1.95 million. Rounding out the top five were Pregnancy Resources of Abilene with $77,400, West Texas Rehabilitation Center and Hospice of the Big Country with $70,870, Christian Homes and Family Services with $66,388 and the Abilene Zoological Society with $56,465.
